About NYCMUSIC.NET:
This site was born to help all the bands, fans, clubs, labels,
press, and all other musically-inclined folks (engineers, producers,
photographers, managers, entertainment lawyers, etc.) in the
New York metro area network with each other. Whatever it is you
do, if you're involved in the NYC music scene then I & my
staff want to meet you! We will help you get exposure and we
will hook you up with whoever it is you need to hook up with.
In particular, EVERY New York City band should write to us and
introduce yourselves, because THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THIS WEBSITE
WILL BE TO HELP GET YOU SIGNED. Labels introduce yourselves as
well...NYCMUSIC.NET is going to make it our business to know
about all of the best unsigned bands long before you do, so you
will probably want your A&R people to stay in close contact
with us! Enough said...that's what we're about...now everybody
get off your butts and write to us:

Who runs this site anyway?:
I do. My name is Douglas Craig and I've been a record producer here in New York for 20 years. Um...that's all I'm going to say about myself, because this site is not about me. But I will add that I came up with the idea for NYCMUSIC.NET while stranded on a traffic island in the middle of Canal Street while on my way to a Knitting Factory show...and for what it's worth, it was a good show.

We will be offering sampler CD's, internet radio, album reviews, press coverage of shows, band interviews, ad space, photography, video, you name it...whatever we think is cool and helpful to the NYC music community. Click on the "Promo Opportunities" button on the left hand side of this page to see our current offerings. I am open to suggestions from anybody; what do YOU, the users of this site, want us to offer? All ideas will be considered, as long as they don't suck and they are not going to cost me an arm and a leg (hey, this is a business). While we are on the subject of money, I should mention that eventually we are going to have to charge for our services and earn a living, but for now ALL SERVICES ARE FREE!!!! Got any good ideas?
